Usage and limits
What counts as usage, the monthly allowance on your plan, when it resets, and what extra usage costs.
Titan AI includes a set amount of usage each month. Most people never reach it. This page explains what counts towards it, what happens if you do reach it, and what buying more costs, so none of it is a surprise.
What counts as usage
Usage is the work Titan AI does when it answers you: reading your store data, searching Titan's playbooks, writing a report, generating an image, running a scheduled task. It is measured by how much work an answer takes, not by how many messages you send, so a short question about yesterday's spend uses far less of your allowance than a full account audit.
These do not count towards your allowance:
- Browsing the site, reading past chats, or changing settings.
- Linking a store, or reconnecting one.
- Anything a connector charges for on its own account. Image and video generation billed by the provider is charged there, not here.
Your monthly allowance
Every plan includes a monthly allowance, and a Titan membership includes ten times what the free plan does. An account can also be set up with an allowance of its own, so yours is the one that counts.
You never have to track it. Settings, on the Usage tab, shows how much of your allowance you have used, as a percentage, under Plan Usage. Once it is used up, the meter reads At limit instead.
The allowance belongs to the login, so if several people share one login they share one allowance. Separate logins each get their own.
When it resets
Your reset date depends on whether you pay for a Titan membership.
- With a paid membership, your allowance resets on your own monthly billing date. If your billing date is the 14th, your month runs from the 14th to the 14th. Where that date falls in a month too short to hold it, it moves back to the last day of that month, then returns to its usual date afterwards.
- Otherwise, your allowance runs on the calendar month and resets on the 1st.
You never have to work this out. Settings, on the Usage tab, states your reset date under Plan Usage.
The reset moves your allowance on. It does not clear anything you have already been charged for, and unused allowance does not carry into the new month.
What happens when you reach it
Titan AI tells you in the chat that you have reached your monthly usage limit, and shows the date it resets.
Nothing is charged automatically. If you want to keep working before the reset date, you can add extra usage. If you would rather wait, everything starts again on your reset date with the full allowance.
Extra usage
Extra usage is off until you turn it on, so you are never charged for going over your allowance without choosing to.
In Settings, on the Usage tab, switch on Enable extra usage. Your extra usage balance covers work beyond your monthly allowance, and only that part: your allowance is always spent first.
Extra usage costs the same rate as your plan. There is no markup and no premium for going over. You are paying for the work at the same price you already pay, which is not how most AI tools price overage.
To add to the balance, choose $25, $50 or $100, or enter any amount from $1 upwards. There is no maximum.
Adding to your balance takes you to a checkout page to pay. Titan AI does not store your card, so extra usage is paid for at checkout each time.
What rolls over and what does not
- Unused allowance does not roll over. Each month starts at the same included amount, whether you used all of the previous month or none of it.
- An extra usage balance does roll over. Money you have added stays on your account until it is used. It does not expire at the end of the month and it is not reset when your allowance is.
So a balance you add today is still there next month, and the month after.
Refunds
An extra usage balance you have not spent can be refunded. Ask support and it goes back to the card you paid with.
Usage you have already had cannot be refunded, in the same way a delivered service cannot be returned. If you have spent part of a balance, the unspent part is the refundable part.
Where to see where you stand
Settings, on the Usage tab, is the place to look. Plan Usage shows how much of this month you have used as a percentage of your allowance, your reset date, and your extra usage balance with the switch that turns it on.
The Billing tab shows the card Titan Network holds on record for you, and a Transactions list of everything charged. That card is there for reference only: Titan AI never stores it and never changes it, so if it needs updating you do that with Titan Network.
When you reach your allowance, the notice in chat also carries the reset date.
Using Titan AI from Claude or another AI app
Work you do through Titan AI MCP, including Claude and Claude Code, does not currently count towards your monthly allowance. Only work done with Titan AI on this site does.
If that changes, it will be announced in the changelog before it takes effect, and this page will be updated on the same day.
If something looks wrong
If you were stopped by a limit you do not think you reached, or a charge does not look right, contact support with the date and roughly what you were doing. The Transactions list on the Billing tab is the record of what was charged and when.
